I decided to start you off with a really awesome picture I took of the salon. I’m having way too much fun with the new iPhone updates, and this panoramic photo option is my favorite. I went in and edited the shot and changed the tone to “Noir”. Isn’t it neat? Shuh-wanda wasn’t wearing black that day, and neither was Linnie-Pooh! I’m a truly terrible photographer, as I’m sure you all have noticed, but my iPhone and I can occasionally turn out a good one.
I may have mentioned last week that I’m in a creative rut. The truth of the matter is, I’m in maximum overdrive! I have so many ideas going on in my head that I can’t seem to execute any of them. My list of things to do is growing so quickly with Christmas approaching, and I can’t seem to squeeze in time for the things I want to do, not to mention all that I have to do.
This is Tigger’s third year with her Brownie troop, and they meet once a month. Her troop Christmas party was this past week, and I completely dropped the ball. Coach usually has to take her to her meetings and pick her up because I’m usually not off work in time to do it. I failed to send a snack for the party, and I didn’t even get to pick up the gift for their gift swap until just hours before the meeting. Coach had to stop by the salon and pick it up, wrap it, and scoot back for her meeting. I should know well by now what the troop’s plans are, but somehow I always get surprised.
I was still making ornaments this weekend, because I just didn’t have enough left for every family at church. I wanted to take them to church Sunday because we had our yearly Christmas program at the morning worship service, with special music and a meal afterwards. I worked on them all Saturday evening after working at the salon, and left them in the oven overnight, just as I had done before. Sunday morning when I got them out to paint and tie ribbons on, I discovered they weren’t completely dry yet. Bummer. Dropped another ball.
I did manage to make my baked mac ‘n cheese for the potluck and practice a song for the service, which went off pretty well, I think. Sometimes I get more nervous than others, and this Sunday, for some reason, I was shaking like a leaf up there! I sang “What Child Is This” in my quiveriest voice ever, and all my sweet church members still told me how great I did. That’s love, ya know? The service was just beautiful, and I’m so happy to be a part of such a wonderful place of worship.
Of course, there’s shopping, cooking, and planning to be done. I have a pretty big list of things I need to make to gift for Christmas, and I have all of the necessary supplies, but I lack motivation. It’s cold, damp, and foggy outside. I’m tired. And sometimes, I just have to take a break, take a breather, and do a little bit of nothing. Usually after a few hours of that, I’m going nuts and looking for something to do!
Here’s to all of you who work hard, play hard, and know when to give yourself a break. Included today are just some pics of what I’ve been up to lately. I hope you get to look at them with your feet up and a mug of something wonderful in your hand.
I will get back on track eventually. I definitely have some things in the works…hopefully, time will allow me to finish! Between Christmas activities, work, my Etsy shop, and most importantly, family and church time, I’m whooped! I’m going to enjoy my Monday with warm clothes, warm drinks, and a warm fanny, because I plan to sit most of today! Happy Monday!
