Something about Spring makes me start thinking about new makeup. Of course I’m thinking about makeup for the salon, and for the upcoming wedding season, but I also start thinking about revamping my own makeup stash! I’m ready for bronze skin and less makeup, honestly, but I’m not there yet.
Everyone knows about the Urban Decay Naked Palette, right? I love it, but I can only use a few colors for every day. Those super dark colors are for the young! I never go out on the town anymore, so I don’t have much occasion for a smoky eye. I use naked, buck, and virgin mostly. Sometimes I’ll use dark horse in the crease, the pink one on the lid, and virgin on the brow bone, with a little sin in the inner corners.
I also like this one, which is made by NYC (I think). It has the eye shadow primer, which I love, and the greasy highlighter, which I hate. The darkest shadow colors leave all kinds of crumbs in the highlighter part, and when I’ve tried to use the greasy highlighter, I look like someone from Star Trek! I love the smoky purples, though, and this is about as smoky as I get for daytime.
Now, here’s my wish list:
I want one of these so bad. It’s the MAC warm neutral palette. Isn’t it gorgeous? You know what I love most about it? No black! Black eyeshadow and I just don’t get along.
Here’s the story that made me want it. Of course, I want this blogger’s skin-tone, also, but we can’t have it all.
It’s Lip Creme by TIGI Cosmetics. I’m not much of a lipstick/lipgloss person, but I should be. My lips are always dry, and I don’t want lip creases! This is a cool product…lipstick+lipgloss=lipcreme! Here’s my favorite color:
What makeup are you longing for this Spring? Do you wear less and less makeup the warmer it gets, like I do? I ALWAYS wear sunscreen, and I hope you do, too! I’m actually crazy about Mary Kay CC cream. My awesome Mary Kay chick recommended it after they stopped making the tinted moisturizer, and it has the same SPF. I love it! In the summer, I may skip foundation altogether, but I never skip my sunscreen. 🙂
Just so you know, I’m not getting paid for any of these recommendations. I’m just a 40-something makeup artist with skin issues, trying to find what works for me, and I love makeup! Plus, I have two pretty faces booked for this weekend! They’re repeat customers from a wedding two years ago, and they want lashes! I’m so excited!
So, no hairy waves for this Wednesday, but a little bit of what’s making waves in makeup…in my world, anyway!
